21 TEAM WELCOMES HEINZ AS NEW SPONSOR
10/9/2007

Mooresville, N.C. — The Wood Brothers Racing welcomes a new sponsor as their primary partner for the Bank of America 500 event at Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Saturday night.

Bill Elliott will be behind the wheel of the No. 21 Heinz Ore-Ida Ford Fusion this weekend. Heinz will also be the primary sponsor in the upcoming Texas and Phoenix events in November.

“I’ll be anxious to get back to Lowe’s this weekend,” Elliott said. “This track was the first place I showed up earlier this year to help the team and we had a terrific run going until we got caught up in an accident. I know we’ve got some great notes to go on and I think Fatback [Michael McSwain] and the guys will give me a great car for Saturday night. I want to help them get as many points back as possible.”

The team is bringing chassis No. 74 as their primary car for the event. This car was previously used at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway back in March of this year.

McSwain added, “This is a great chassis that we’re bringing. It’s got a lot of history here and it has performed very well on the intermediate tracks. We’ll do what we can to make Bill comfortable in the car and let him do the rest.”

Elliott enjoys a solid record of success at the 1.5-mile Lowe’s Motor Speedway. In 56 starts there, Elliott has two victories, 11 top-five finishes and 22 top-10 finishes. He’s led 1,337 laps of competition and counts four Bud Pole position awards to his credit through the years.

The No. 21 team has slipped back out of the top-35 in points. They are now 51 points behind the No. 22 car of Dave Blaney and 53 points behind the No. 45 of Kyle Petty with six events remaining in 2007.

Heinz jumps on-board to support this team while they are fighting for a Top 35 spot.
